BOC seizes high-grade marijuana in Port of Clark

Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized high-grade marijuana hidden in eight canisters that were sent from the United States.

In a statement, BOC Port of Clark District Collector Alexandra Lumontad said the claimant of the marijuana was arrested during a controlled delivery operation on Tuesday, Sept. 13, in Malabon City.

"The shipment from Pennsylvania, USA, said to contain “goodies” was subjected to x-ray scanning which showed suspicious images. K9 sweeping also indicated the possible presence of illegal drugs," said Lumontad.

BOC agents then discovered 35 grams of marijuana.

The smuggled marijuana were seized and will be used as evidence in the filing of the case against the arrested claimants.

The BOC Port of Clark has seized P114 million worth of illegal drugs since January this year.
