Two local tourists carrying P7.7 M worth of marijuana intercepted at Mt. Province checkpoint
SADANGA, Mt. Province – Two local tourists who were traveling with P7.7 million worth of marijuana bricks were intercepted at a police checkpoint on Tuesday morning, Sept. 13, at Sitio Ampawilen, Poblacion, Sadanga in this province.

The two arrested were identified as Eliseo IV San Pedro Quiambao, 23, a resident of 18P, Tuazon Street, Cubao, Quezon City, and John Cedric Gadia, 21, resident of 64 Bae Compound, Barangay Vastra, Quezon City.
BGen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, said the police authorities had received information that some would be transporting marijuana bricks from Kalinga to Baguio City.

This prompted the authorities to form a team composed of personnel of the Sadanga Municipal Police Station, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Coy, Mt.Province Provincial Mobile Force Company (Lead units), Mountain Province Provincial Police Office and PDEA Mountain Province to conduct an Interdiction Border Control Checkpoint.
The victims were on board a gray car with license plate NAE 3385 which was stopped at the checkpoint.
Inside the vehicle were found three sacks containing 67 pieces of marijuana bricks weighing 64.283 kilos and with a Standard Drug Price of P7,713,960.
The inventory was conducted in the area and witnessed by Barangay Captain Eliang Anongos and Lanie Faith Lagob from PIO Mountain Province.
