Police hunt down suspect in killing of 16-year-old girl in Cavite

CAVITE – Authorities have launched a manhunt against the suspect in the killing of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found under a bridge in Trece Martires City on Sept. 12.

On Tuesday, Sept. 13, Trece Martires City Police Station (TMCPS) identified the suspect as Elden Alegria, a 33-year-old construction worker.

The suspect's live-in partner appeared at the police station to attest that the recovered pieces of evidence from the crime scene belonged to Alegria.

The pieces of evidence included underwear, a folding knife, a cap, a face towel, and a pair of slippers.

According to the father of the victim, his Grade 9 daughter, alias Nene, left their house at around 10:00 p.m. on Sept. 11 for unknown reasons.

He also stated that alias Nene had to pass through a dark and secluded alley near the suspect's house.

In a statement, Police Regional Office 4A director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. ordered his men to double police visibility, especially at night.

Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) officer-in-charge Col. Christopher F. Olazo, on the other hand, has directed TMCPS to backtrack CCTV footage in the area as they hunt down the suspect.

The police are also appealing to the public to report any information that could lead to the suspect's immediate arrest.
