DOH logs additional Covid-19, omicron subvariant cases

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,574 new infections of Covid-19 and more than 800 cases of omicron subvariants on Sept. 13, Tuesday.

Based on the DOH Covid-19 tracker, there were 24,502 active cases of Covid-19 across the country.

Metro Manila recorded the most number of cases in the last 14 days with 9,133, followed by Calabarzon with 3,711, Central Luzon with 2,304, Davao Region with 1,278, and Western Visayas with 1,103.

As of Tuesday, the tally of confirmed cases went up to 3,909,772, including 3,882,888 recoveries and 62,382 deaths.

In a separate report, the DOH announced 839 new omicron BA.5 subvariant cases, 11 more BA.4 cases, and one case each of BA.275 and BA.2.12.1

The new BA.5 cases were detected in all regions of the country and among eight returning overseas Filipinos (ROF), the DOH said.

For the BA.4 cases, seven cases were found in Soccsksargen, two from Bicol region, and one each from Metro Manila and Calabarzon.

The new BA.2.75 case was from Metro Manila. On the other hand, the new case of BA.2.12.1 involves an ROF.
