Ilocos Sur farmers receive P1.8-M farm equipment

SAN JUAN, Ilocos Sur – The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Friday, Sept. 9, turned over farm equipment and machinery totaling P1.8 million to 11 municipalities and one city in this province.

Ilocos Sur Rep. Ronald Singson, with Mark Ariel Agresor, manager of the Ilocos Sur Research and Experiment Center (ISREC), and Agricultural Programs Coordinating Officer Jomar Dayap, led their turnover to 16 farmers’ cooperatives and associations at the ISREC here.

Singson thanked the DA for providing these to his farmer-constituents in the first district to improve their productivity and income.

He urged farmer-leaders and members to efficiently handle these farming machines and equipment as they would not only help reduce their farming expenses but ultimately help increase their yield and income.

Agresor also urged farmer-beneficiaries to handle these machineries and equipment with care which may serve as agribusiness enterprise for them while providing other farmers accessible farm equipment to further enhance their production.
