ZAMBOANGA CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed while shabu valued at P408,000 was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bunguiao here on Sunday, Sept. 11.
Col. Alexander Lorenzo, acting city police chief, said a police poseur-buyer was transacting with two drug suspects when one of them fired at the policeman after sensing the lawman’s real identity.
A member of the police backup team fired back, killing William Dionisio Montibon, identified as a high value target. His cohort, Vincent delos Reyes, was taken into custody.
Lorenzo identified Montibon as a member of an evolving drug syndicate operating in the east coast of this city.
The suspects were also linked to a series of robbery, extortion, cattle rustling, and carnapping incidents in Barangay Bunguiao.
Police confiscated 60 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated P408,000 and various firearms and ammunition from the suspects.
