'Sakalam': Salceda compliments 'strong' Enrile in tribute message to late Queen Elizabeth II
Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda couldn't help but include a compliment to former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile in his message of tribute to the late British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

"The Queen was a force of stability and a symbol of tradition in a rapidly changing world. For that reason alone, she has a singular place in world history," Salceda, the Committee on Ways and Means chairman, said in a statement Friday afternoon, Sept. 9.
"The people of Albay have a longstanding and historic relationship with the people of the United Kingdom. We condole with them deeply," he added.
Salceda then ended his message with this, obviously tongue-in-cheek remark: "Enrile lang ang sakalam (Only Enrile is strong)."
As most Filipinos know, Enrile is the de facto "favorite immortal" of netizens. He has been memed to Jose Mari Chan-levels, in this case for having a long, storied life that has spanned nearly a century.
Now 98 years young, Enrile held numerous posts in government during the time of the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., from defense minister, to finance secretary, to justice secretary. He then served multiple terms in the Senate and even became Senate President.
Enrile is the chief presidential legal counsel of incumbent President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96.
