Around 2,000 eager job seekers flocked to meet the 55 local and international companies participating in the mega job fair held at SM City Marikina on Friday, Sept. 9.

The job fair was organized by SM City Marikina, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (PLMar), and the Labor Relations and Public Employment Service Office (LRPESO) of the Marikina City local government.
Marikina Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro and District 1 Rep. Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro attended the event.
The occasion was a “huge opportunity for young hopefuls looking for jobs and companies needing employees to meet,” said the local government.

The fair was formally opened at 8 a.m. to PLMar students lined up for the opening program.
The fair catered only to PLMar student applicants from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Other non-PLMar applicants were accommodated from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
During the event’s opening ceremony, a memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed by PLMar and the Shopping Center Management Corporation, establishing an academic partnership for the fair.

Job applicants got the chance to choose from an array of job vacancies offered by a range of companies and institutions in the fields of education, health, information technology (IT), manufacturing, advertising, and business process outsourcing (BPO).
The overseas companies were accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
