Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula marked his 21st episcopal anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The Archdiocese of Manila Office of Communications posted a greeting for the Cardinal on their Facebook page.
"Happy Episcopal Anniversary, Cardinal Joe! May the Blessed Mother keep you safe under the mantle of her protection. May the Lord continue to bless you in your mission of evangelization," read the post.
Born on March 30, 1952, in Dumalag, Capiz, Cardinal Advincula was ordained priest on April 14, 1976.
He completed his studies in Theology and Canon Law at the University of Santo Tomas.
On July 25, 2000, he was appointed bishop, and was consecrated on Sept. 8, 2001.
He was appointed Archbishop of Capiz on Nov. 9, 2011 after the retirement of Archbishop Onesimo Gordoncillo.
On Oct. 25, 2020, Pope Francis announced the appointment of Archbishop Advincula as among the new Cardinals.
He was elevated at a consistory on Nov. 28, 2020.
Before his appointment as Cardinal, he has been serving the Archdiocese of Capiz since 2012.
