ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government has announced the activities for the Fiesta Pilar and Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October with the theme “Celebracion de Colores” that showcases the colorful history, culture, and traditions here.

The traditional Fiesta Pilar and Zamboanga Hermosa Festival are celebrated in honor of the city’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora la Virgen del Pilar or the Our Lady of the Pillar.
More than 50 activities that are expected to draw crowds have been lined up by the City Tourism Office for this year’s celebration, among them the Regatta de Zamboanga, street dance, triathlon, and religious activities and novena masses in honor of Our Lady of the Pillar.
The ongoing night market on Rizal St. near the City Hall ushered in this year’s festivities.
Activities will be spearheaded by the local government with some in partnership with the private sector.
“We look forward for every Zamboangueño to savor and enjoy the forthcoming Hermosa Festival. May we all find renewed hope and purpose in the celebration of our fiesta, which remains the heart of Zamboanga City,” said Mayor John Dalipe.
