PLDT, harnessing tech for healthcare

PLDT Inc.’s B2B arm, PLDT Enterprise, extends cutting-edge digital technologies to healthcare providers like Nephromed Asia Dialysis Center, a dialysis franchise chain providing kidney treatments in the Philippines and other Asian countries.

First of all, healthcare providers need reliable internet connection to transmit data for their billing systems, according to Nephromed executives.

Aside from ensuring Nephromed is updated with its billing statements to operate efficiently and retain patients, PLDT's internet service allows patients to video stream shows during treatment, access their social media accounts and surf online.

Nephromed centers are equipped with television monitors and free WIFI connections for patients who undergo hours of dialysis treatment every week.

"We now experience fast and reliable internet connection which enable us to deal with PhilHealth and provide our patients and their families with free WIFI while they are in the center,” confirmed Ben Calderon, Managing Director of Nephromed Asia Dialysis Center – Rizal.

As a growth enabler, PLDT Enterprise empowers micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) partners via digital solutions for connectivity and financial assistance, as well as upskilling and training.

“PLDT Enterprise supports our thrust of providing high-quality treatment and care to our patients," Calderon stated.

"Technology is indeed a powerful tool to unlock limitless opportunities, especially for MSMEs," he concluded.
