3 patients rob rehab center in Tanza, Cavite, get arrested


CAVITE – Authorities arrested on Monday, Sept. 5, three in-house patients who robbed a rehabilitation center in Barangay Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite on Sept. 2.

Police Regional Office 4A identified the suspects as Francis Maximo, a resident of Las Piñas City; Angelo Punongbayan, a resident of Nasugbu, Batangas; and Philip Rey Ambrosio, a resident of General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.

The fourth suspect, Gabriel Lomboy, remains at large.

On the day of the incident, the suspects allegedly threatened two rehab center employees with steel pipes and bladed weapons. The suspects restrained the victims using masking tape before carting away cash and mobile phones.

Police Regional Office 4A Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the concerted efforts of the police resulting in the arrest of the three suspects within 72 hours.

The Tanza Philippine National Police (PNP), meanwhile, is conducting a thorough manhunt operation against the fourth suspect.
