No Miss Universe pageant this year?

The Miss Universe Competition is expected to be postponed until next year, according to multiple reports on Sept. 6.

An official announcement from the Miss Universe Organization is set to be made soon.

No reason has been given for the postponement of the prestigious competition.

National directors in Latin American countries participating in Miss Universe have received an internal memo that read: "We are going to hold the Miss Universe event in the first quarter of 2023, we will announce it soon."

The reigning Miss Universe is Harnaaz Sandhu of India, who was crowned in December 2021 in Israel.

Celeste Cortesi is the current Miss Universe Philippines.

A few days ago, the Miss Universe Organization became the talk of the pageant scene after it was reported that it was being sold for US$20 million.
