Wife of Sibugay village chief arrested for illegal drugs, possession of guns


ZAMBOANGA CITY- A wife of a village chief in Zamboanga Sibugay Province was arrested after the raiders found illegal drugs and assorted firearms at her residence in Mabuhay Municipality, Zamboanga Sibugay on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Criminal Investigation Detection Group under its chief Col. John Francis Encinareal, arrested Langca Alih, whose husband, Mannan Haraji Baluan, barangay captain of Looc Barlac, was actually the subject of an arrest warrant.

Haraji Baluan was able to evade arrest.

Found in the house were 50 grams of shabu packed in 27 plastic sachets worth P340,000.

The raiders also found two caliber .45 pistols with magazine assemblies and ammunition, 13 magazine assemblies for an M-16 Armalite rifle with ammunition, and a bandolier.

Alih is facing charges for violation of the 2002 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act.

Alih was taken to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Zamboanga Sibugay field office for proper documentation and disposition.

Baluan is now the subject of manhunt operations by police.
