PBBM at Bacolod MassKara Festival in October – Benitez

BACOLOD CITY – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will attend the MassKara Festival here next month, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez confirmed.

Benitez said he personally invited the President and his family to the event.

Marcos will be joined by his wife, First Lady Liza, and son Vinny.

This year’s festival with the theme “Balik Yuhum” (It’s time to smile again) will return after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

In a press statement, organizers said the theme reminds and inspires Bacolodnons that despite the complexities of life especially during the height of pandemic, everyone “should work and unite together in bringing back those beautiful, radiant, and iconic smiles that made Masskara Festival unique in so many ways.”

Last month, the city government launched the MassKara Festival theme song “It's Time to Smile Again” interpreted by Darren Espanto.

It’s all systems go for the three-week long festivity featuring the Masskaralympics from Oct. 1 to 16, Masskara Trade Show from Oct. 10 to 16, and the Masskara Cultural and Culminating Activities from Oct. 19 to 23.
