The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat” may continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales and Bataan.
In its weather bulletin on Monday morning, Sept. 5, PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides as moderate to, at times, heavy rains may persist in these areas.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over the rest of the country, including Metro Manila.
PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
It also issued a gale warning over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon (Batanes and Babuyan Islands)
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” PAGASA said.
