Cops seize over P16M worth of marijuana, shabu


Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than P16 million worth of marijuana and shabu in three separate anti-illegal drug operations in Kalinga, Bulacan and Davao City.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. said the first operation was held in Tabuk City when 31-year old Jerry Alunday yielded 126 bricks and four tubular packaging of marijunana weighing a total of 130,000 grams.

Azurin said Alunday was arersted when he tried to transport the marijuana worth P15.6 million using a van which was intercepted by the local police.

“The suspect may have been involved in large-scale trafficking of Marijuana as evidenced by the huge quantity confiscated from him. The vigilance of our personnel was instrumental in supressing the possible consumption of illegal drugs that could possibly happen in case these Marijuana were successfully delivered,” said Azurin.

In Davao City, five people were arrested in anti-illegal drugs operation which resulted in the confiscation of 13 grams of shabu.

Nabbed were Jezrel Villaros Adalwan, Antonio Mangin, Daniel Bustamante, Alan Leal and Leo Alquizar.

In Bulacan, police raided a suspected drug den in Sta. Maria town which resulted in the arrest of Jumar Nicariel Uligan; Grace Sta. Cruz; Nicole Figueroa; Arnold Viola; and Patrick Sta. Cruz.

Confiscated from the suspects were 100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P680,000.

“These and all other police operations have been recorded around the country. Filing of cases are also underway to make sure those involved in this illegal business will face the consequences of their actions,” Azurin said.
