The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KFW) awarded the “Seal of Excellence in Public Service” to the city government of Pasay for using Filipino language in its transactions.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano received the award at Diamond Hotel in Manila as part of the celebration of the “Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa” on Aug. 31.
Rubiano thanked the KFW for the recognition given to the city government.
She said the KFW is recognizing local government units and agencies who comply with Executive Order No. 335 or Use of Filipino Language in Official Transactions, Communications and Correspondence.
The mayor said EO 335 was signed by former Presidents Corazon Aquino in August 1988, which urges departments, bureaus, offices, agencies, and instrumentalities of the government to take necessary action to elevate the Filipino language.
