Choco Mucho settled for eighth place in the previous PVL tournament and is now looking to build its wall of defense at the net with Ortiz joining the team.
Ortiz was among the seven players who were released by Chery Tiggo last month as the team undergoes a major revamp.
The veteran middle blocker was part of the Crossovers’ title run in the Open Conference against the highly favored Creamline Cool Smashers.
Since then, Chery Tiggo lost steam and found itself at the back of the grid in the past two consecutive conferences.
Ortiz will join the cast that includes Bea de Leon and Maddie Madayag in the upcoming PVL conference. (Nikole Javier)
