OFW, husband caught with P1-M marijuana hashish in Santiago City buy-bust
SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested an overseas Filipino worker and her husband in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, Sept. 1, in Barangay Batal here.
PDEA identified the suspects as Diosa Caliboso, an OFW, and Villamor Caliboso Jr., 45, barangay tanod, both of Purok 7 Habitat, Barangay Naggasican, this city.
The couple was arrested after they sold one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer at 6:52 p.m.
PDEA said Villamor, a high-value target and city target-listed in the drugs watchlist, and Diosa, who was on vacation, had been under surveillance. The agency added that Diosa knows her husband’s involvement in the illegal drugs trade.
"Dalawang buwan ang bakasyon na misis na OFW at alam ang gawain ng mister kaya nakasama ito sa pagbebenta (Wife is on vacation for two months and she joined her husband in peddling drugs),” PDEA said.
Suspects also yielded four bricks of suspected marijuana hashish with an estimated value of P1 million, the buy-bust money, two smartphones, a motorcycle, sling bag, and assorted IDs.
Cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared against the suspects.
