Mandaluyong City cancels classes amid Typhoon Henry

Due to bad weather and possible flooding in areas in Metro Manila brought by typhoon 'Henry', classes in all levels of both public and private schools in Mandaluyong City are suspended on Friday, Sept. 2.

The local government announced the suspension at around 4:15 p.m. through the city's official Public Information Office (PIO) social media pages.

At 1:15 p.m. the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a yellow rainfall warning in Metro Manila.

In line with the Department of Education (DepEd) Order 37, issued on Sept. 1, in-person and online classes in all levels must be suspended or cancelled immediately in areas where PAGASA will issue either a yellow, orange, or red rainfall warning.

Following this directive, the cities of Caloocan, Las Pinas, Marikina, Manila, Malabon, Pasay, Paranaque, Pasig, Taguig, Valenzuela, and Quezon City have announced class suspensions this afternoon.

The Mandaluyong City local government urged the public to keep safe and stay alert.
