Herlene Budol urges fans: 'Tigilan na ang pamba-bash kay Miss Manila'

Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up Herlene “Hipon” Budol recently watched the viral episode of "Wowowin" some years ago that saw her and Miss Manila 2020 Alexandra Abdon being pitied against each other.

At that time, many netizens called out the latter for calling Herlene “iskwater.”

Later, Alexandra cleared the lines were "scripted."

Reacting to the video, Herlene admitted, "Sobra akong napikon. Kung wala sa TV nabugbog ko na. Para idamay pa yung magulang ko."

She added, "Gusto ko na lang lumubog sa kinakaupuan ko nun, yung buong pagkatao ko dinurog niya. Napaniwala niya ako na hindi ako qualified."

But she was quick to clarify, "Napagtanto ko na meron rin pa lang ambag sa akin si Ms. Manila. Kaya nagpapasalamat din ako sa kanya dahil kung hindi nangyari yun baka hindi ko nagawa yung best ko para pakita rin sa inyo. Hindi dahil sa may mapatunayan ako sa ibang tao. Gusto ko may mapatunayan ako sa sarili ko na 'O imposible palang mangyari yung mga bagay na hindi natin inaakala na pwedeng mangyari.'"

According to her, Alexandra did motivate her.

"Ang mga taong binababa ay tinataas," she said.

Herlene advised netizens to stop bashing Alexandra.

“Tigilan na natin iyon, grabe naman kayo. Two years na pong nakalipas o magti-three years na. Hindi ko na po alam kasi nangyari yata iyon 2020? 2022, magtu-2023 na nga po, di ba?"

“Para sa akin, tigilan na natin yung pamba-bash natin kay Miss Manila. Ang sabi nga niya, scripted daw yun lahat ng sa kanya.”

Herlene doesn't like having enemies.

"Hindi magandang magkaroon ng kaaway dahil liliit lang ang mundo mo," was how she put it.

She ended by extending her hand to Alexandra.

“Kaya ikaw, Miss Manila, kontakin mo na ako. Bati na tayo, di ba? 2020 pa iyon.”
