Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives arrested 14 suspects in six anti-illegal drug operations that yielded more than P163,000 worth of alleged shabu on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
QCPD Anonas Station cops arrested the first suspect identified as Jed Alzate, 46, a resident of Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City, at the corner of Maginhawa and Mapagkumbaba Streets in Brgy. Sikatuna Village, at around 8 p.m.
Police recovered from Alzate two sachets of alleged shabu valued at P6,936.
QCPD Kamuning Station officers confiscated a total of P6,800 worth of alleged shabu from two suspects on Sct. Santiago St. near the corner Marathon St. in Brgy. Obrero at around 9:30 p.m.
The suspects were identified as Alison Estaco, 27, and Anjo Aparato, 29, both residents of Brgy. UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.
Meanwhile, QCPD Novaliches Station personnel confiscated 12 grams of alleged shabu worth P81,600 from three suspects in a buy-bust operation at around 10:30 p.m. at the corner of Quirino Highway and Forest Hill Drive in Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches.
The suspects were identified as Glen Suratos, 43; Lucy Mateo, 43; and Vergel Caloza, 31, all residents of Novaliches, Quezon City. Confiscated from them were a cellular phone and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, members of the QCPD Fairview Station seized P34,000 worth of shabu from two suspects in another entrapment operation on Camaro St. in Brgy. Greater Fairview, Quezon City, at about 10:30 p.m.
Police identified the suspects as Jimuel Brillantes, 41, and Sheryll Navarro, 45, both residents of Caloocan City.
Members of the Payatas Bagong Silangan Station also nabbed Allan Gonzaga, 53; Ronnie Vitales, 38; Richie Araza, 34; Joshue Loreto, 37, all residents of Payatas, at Phase 3, Empire Extension, Brgy. Payatas at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday
Seized from the suspects were six sachets of alleged shabu worth P20,400
The buy-bust operation conducted by members of Galas Police Station at the corner of Bagong Buhay St. and Luzon Ave. in Brgy. San Isidro led to the arrest of two more suspects identified as Esperanza Vicencio, 49, and Elmer Untal, 49, both residents in San Isidro,
Four sachets of alleged shabu valued at P13,600 were confiscated.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
