Enough food packs, non-food necessities assured in Batanes in preparation for typhoon Henry's onslaught
BATANES -- The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has assured it has sufficient relief goods that will be distributed to those who may be affected by typhoon Henry.

In the Response Cluster meeting initiated by the Cagayan Valley Regional Task Force, on Thursday, Sept. 1, Ceasar Roldan Esdicu of PDRRMO said that their office has distributed food packs good enough for residents of different municipalities.
At the same time, the Cagayan’s regional task force has also appealed to the public to prepare for the approaching typhoon.
As part of precaution, Esdicu said notice has been issued to the public on prohibition of sailing or anchoring all types of vessels.
Esdicu added that Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco has already advised farmers to harvest their crops before typhoon Henry.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 02 allotted a budget of P10 million, including Family Food packs worth P15,349,630 and non-food items worth P4,408,319.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has installed free wifi in a designated area in Batanes.
