OnePlus 10T 5G: A scene-stealer in the flagships market

Like a thief in the night.

You read it right, we're starting our first impression of the OnePlus 10T 5G with this classic phrase normally reserved to more literary writeups than a technical piece which we're actually doing now.

And rightfully so, we're waxing poetic to describe the OnePlus 10T 5G, unveiled near the end of second quarter 2022, or at a time when four major brands have stirred local market with launches of much fanfares.

Like a thief in the night, the shoe-size box with the OnePlus 10T 5G unit inside arrived on our TechNews doorstep with just a simple message that our review unit got delivered late in a day, in good condition.

So starry-eyed we lifted the unit out of the box, hold it aloft against the setting sun to love at first sight, and went to work as a technical writer. The OnePlus 10T 5G is taller than others at 163 mm, probably to accommodate its 6.7-inch screen plus enough space for the 50MP triple-rear cameras.

Second eye-catcher is the Fluid AMOLED panel for rich colors and deep blacks, on 2412x1080 resolution. Despite the size, the volume rocker on the left side and the power/lock button on the right can be handled just fine and easy.

On top frame are the loudspeaker and secondary microphone, then gave it a slide feel-down to the dual-nano SIM card slot, main mike, USB-C port -- things you normally see in smartphones.

Now the backside of the OnePlus 10T 5G you will be greeted by the large camera module that shows the 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, the 2MP macro, and the LED flash, the back cover is Gorilla Glass 5 curving to the sides.People, the OnePlus 10T 5G is a legit flagship parade of premium materials, glass and metal combined. It weighs 204g, sans a protective case, for that toy for the big boy feel.

Now let's get technical.

The OnePlus 10T 5G drew power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 chipset with an octa-core CPU said to clock at a maximum of 3.19GHz, an Adreno 730 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1. It runs on OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12 on a battery of 4,800mAh capacity with support for 150W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology.

As a shooter, the OnePlus 10T 5G is a wanted killer with an 8MP sporting a 119.9° ultra-wide camera while the 50MP main camera boasts a Sony IMX766 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS) for high-quality images.

Its imaging system delivers Nightscape 2.0 for photos in low-light or dark environments and Super HDR to cure uneven brightnesses. The ICE 2.0 enables you to capture split-second moments with ultra-fast shutter.
