The Misters of Filipinas 2022 has announced the first batch of candidates who will vie for six titles at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Oct. 16.

The announcement was made during a callback held at the Winford Manila Resort and Casino last Aug. 28. The ninth edition of the prestigious male pageant aims to "reinvent" itself from the common pageants nowadays.

"We are actually reinventing Misters of Filipinas. We are actually elevating Mister of Filipinas. Why, kasi alam natin, some of the pageants are already templated, so let's find something new na mapapanood. And I think eto yung susubaybayan niyo sa mga susunod na events namin," Carlo Morris Galang, President of the Prime Events Productions Philippines.

Aski Pascual, one of PEPPS's board members, said that the titles at stake are Misters of Filipinas Man of The World, Mister Model Worldwide, Mister Tourism & Culture, Mister Model of the Universe, Fitness Model World, and Mister Super Globe.

From their dashing looks and physique, each of these candidates will represent different regions from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Out of 33 callback finalists, only 20 will be coming back in the spotlight. In addition to that, three wildcard candidates will enter if they will be able to improve on some aspects.
