GENERAL LUNA, Quezon – The first home for the aged in the Bondoc Peninsula was inaugurated in Barangay San Ignacio Ilaya in this town.
The blessing ceremony was led by Mayor Matt Erwin Florido, Gumaca Bishop Victor Ocampo, lot donor Isabelo and Gloria Lim, and Sangguniang Bayan members led by Vice Mayor Laica Batariano.
Florido said that since becoming mayor in 2019, he dreamed of having a permanent place for the homeless elderly which was supported by Father Ven Zoleta of the Divine Mercy Place of Prayer. And this came true when the Lims donated a 2,000-square meter lot for the local government facility.
Florido added the local government allotted P2 million for the construction of the building and is now ready for occupancy.
The Balai Pag-Ibig Home for the Aged located at the Divine Mercy Place of Prayer will be guided by Zoleta.
“Sa iyo po Father Ven, walang hanggang pasasalamat po sa iyong paggabay sa aming mga lingkod bayan dito sa bayang may puso. Lahat ng mga ito ay bunga ng iyong mga magagandang pangarap para sa General Luna (Thank you Father Ven for your guidance. This is the fruit of your dreams for General Luna),” Florido said.
