DOLE Bicol hires 1,386 displaced workers for emergency employment
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hired a total of 1,386 displaced workers in Camarines Sur in a bid to assist them cope with their daily needs after losing their respective jobs.
Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita, regional director of DOLE Region 5, said the employment is temporary and is covered by the department's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program.

The beneficiaries were from the towns of Nabua, Balatan, Baao, and Bula. A total of P6,946,950.00 was released to beneficiaries.
Each of the workers received a P5,175 salary after completing the 15-day community cleaning and disinfection services spearheaded by the DOLE-CSPFO.
Campita said the compensation allowance from TUPAD programs will help the workers who lost jobs during the pandemic and at least relieve them from hardships brought by the economic crisis
TUPAD program is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
