Cordillera police catch 41 wanted persons, 17 drug suspects from Aug. 21 to 27


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Forty-one wanted persons and 17 drug personalities were arrested in a week-long anti-criminality operation conducted by Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera from Aug. 21 to 27.

Police Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional police director, said the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) had the highest number of wanted persons arrested with 16, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 15, Ifugao PPO with five, Abra PPO with three, and Mountain Province PPO with two.

The PRO-Cordillera Regional Operations Division (ROD) said Baguio CPO had the most drug personalities arrested with 11, followed by the Benguet PPO with five, and Abra PPO with one.

Separate anti-illegal drug operations resulted in the seizure of a total of 12.11 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P82,348.

Drug suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
