Cagayan Valley cops declare readiness for super typhoon ‘Henry’


CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, Tuguegarao City -- Police Regional Office 2 through the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division declared the readiness of the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) and Search, Rescue and Retrieval (SRR) Equipment during the conduct of virtual showdown inspection participated by all Police Regional Offices on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 31.

Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police, spearheaded the activity in preparation for the entry of Super Typhoon ‘Hinnamnor’ (locally named Henry) in the Philippine area of responsibility.

Police Colonel Mario P. Malana presented PRO2's manpower, mobility and SAR assets preparations for the calamity.

The Oplan Tambuli was already conducted in the different areas in the region, particularly in low-lying and coastal municipalities, including the province of Batanes.

The PNP top cop also reminded the men and women of the police force to ensure primarily the safety and security of their families.

General Azurin stressed the ‘Kaligtasan Niyo, Sagot Ko’ mantra to guarantee the public that the PNP will be on the frontline to be of service to the people.

On the other hand, PRO2, through the supervision of Regional Director Police Brigadier General Steve B Ludan, had already alerted all police units in Region 2 for any eventuality.

The Valley cops encouraged the community to always cooperate with the PNP and local authorities.
