BAGUIO CITY – The body of a naked woman was found in a garage in Barangay A. Tabora here Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Residents found the body of Juliet "Shane" Bajar Hesim, 22, of Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga at 6:40 a.m.
Hesim’s remains were positively identified by her twin sister through her "Shane Hesim" tattoo on the left shoulder.
Police said Bajar had braces on her upper teeth, her black bra was pulled up along with a white crop top dress, her underwear was missing along with her pants, and her hands and mouth are tied with duct tape and a belt was tied around her neck when she was found.
The garage owner, Rodrigo Magsino, 86, said he did not notice anything unusual after he returned home around 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, after going out at 9 pm.
Investigators believe that the victim was dumped there the same day to mislead the police.
MAYOR APPEALS
Mayor Benjamin Magalong here appealed to the public to refrain from making any conclusions that may cause unnecessary fear in relation to the crime.
Magalong said the Baguio City Police Office is now investigating the incident and he is confident that lawmen will leave no stone unturned to clarify the circumstances of the victim's death and identify and arrest whoever is responsible.
"I believe this is an isolated incident as no similar cases have been reported of late."
Magalong assured the public that all reports of missing persons in recent months and the past few years are not incidents of kidnapping or rape.
"All the missing people were found and returned home safe and sound as confirmed by the city police," Magalong said.
He said rumors of syndicates in vans roaming this city allegedly kidnapping people for prostitution or organ harvesting remain hearsay as no such incidents had been reported and the police confirming these statements.
Magalong advised people to continue to be vigilant and be concerned about their safety and that of their loved ones.
Rest assured, he said, that the city police and city government are on top of the situation and doing everything possible to keep this city safe.
"To those who have knowledge of this unfortunate incident, we appeal to you to come forward and cooperate with the investigators for the immediate resolution of the case," Magalong added.
