President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed sportscaster Noli Eala as new chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission.

Eala will assume the post as the 11th chairman of the said government sports agency, succeeding Butch Ramirez who has served under President Duterte’s administration.
His appointment letter was transmitted Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Eala was also a former PBA commissioner from 2003 until 2007. Before he became the league commissioner, he was a play-by-play commentator of Viva-Vintage Sports, which broadcasted the PBA games from the early 1990s until 2002.
