MB Daily News Update: SC issues TRO vs no-contact apprehension policy


The Supreme Court (SC) issued a temporary restraining order against the implementation of the no-contact apprehension policy by the Land Transportation Office (LTO), as well as the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Paranaque, and Valenzuela.

Malacañang is looking into who was behind an attempt to forge an appointment paper supposedly signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the position of Commissioner of the Bureau of Immigration (BI). The purported appointment papers came out in some online online portals and on social media.

The alert is out for what could be a super typhoon as the country braces for the arrival of typhoon Hinnamnor, which is set to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, violence against Filipinos abroad continued to be committed after a Filipina and her daughter died after being stabbed in Toronto, Canada.
