Veterans hospitals to rise in Visayas, Mindanao, vows Marcos
Veterans hospitals will be built in Visayas and Mindanao by the administration of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s term. This was announced during the celebration of National Heroes Day.

"Kaisa ng (With the) Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, magpapatayo tayo ng mga ospital sa Visayas at Mindanao na ilalaan natin para sa ating mga beterano (we will establish hospitals in Visayas and Mindanao intended for our veterans)," Marcos said as he spoke at the commemoration of heroes' day in Taguig City on Aug. 29.
The President declared this as he paid tribute to the heroism of war veterans.
He vowed that the government, under his watch, will continue to create programs to provide assistance for veterans.
"Sa ating pagdiriwang ngayon, inaalala rin natin ang kabayanihan ng mga beteranong nakipaglaban noong panahon ng digmaan (In today's celebration we are remembering the heroism of veterans who fought in wars)," Marcos said.
"Makakaasa kayo na ang pamahalaang ito ay mananatiling aktibo sa pagsusulong ng mga programang tutugon sa inyong mga pangangailangan, lalo na para sa kanilang mga rekisitong pangkalusugan (You can expect that this government will continue to be active in pushing for programs responding to your needs, especially their health needs)," he added.
On heroes' day, the Chief Executive encouraged Filipinos to strive to be "heroes in our own right" and serve as inspiration for the succeeding generation to emulate.
He also honored modern-day heroes such as farmers, teachers, police, military, barangay officials, community leaders, ecological warriors, healthcare workers, overseas Filipino workers, and those working in other sectors.
