Man nabbed for rape, blackmail of 14-year-old girl in Pasig City

Operatives of the Eastern Division of the Anti-Cybercrime Team (EDACT) arrested on Saturday, Aug. 27, a man who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl and blackmailed her if she refused to meet him for sex for the second time.

The EDACT identified the suspect as Junellee Talisag De Guzman.

The identity of the victim was withheld by the EDACT.

According to the EDACT report, the victim met De Guzman on Facebook.

The suspect used a picture of a “handsome man” as his profile photo and generated interest from the victim, the report said.

They exchanged messages that included nude photos and videos of the victim.

The victim said De Guzman met her in person and raped her last Aug. 13. She said he demanded on Saturday, Aug. 27, to see her again to have sex.

The suspect used the victim’s nude photos and videos to blackmail her if she did not comply.

Upon receiving the threats, the victim sought the help of the authorities.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG).

He will be facing charges in violation of Republic Act (RA) 9775 or the “Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009”, RA 7610 or the “Child Abuse Law”, RA 10175 or the “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,” and Articles 282 (Grave Threat) and 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code.

He will also be charged with statutory rape, the EDACT said.

Brig. Gen. Joel Doria, acting director of the ACG, reminded the public to “be extra careful” in sharing private photos and videos on social media.

He also appealed to parents to supervise their children’s online activities.

“Safeguarding your children’s safety is not solely the responsibility of the PNP but yours as well,” Doria said.
