The ridge or extension of a high pressure area (HPA) over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will be the dominant weather system in the country in the next 24 hours.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), this weather system is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
"Itong mga thunderstorm na ito, ay kadalasan nabubuo po yan bandang hapon o gabi (These thunderstorms usually form in the afternoon or at night)," PAGASA Weather Specialist Aldczar D. Aurelio said on Monday, Aug. 29.
PAGASA is also monitoring Tropical Storm "Hinnamnor" outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Aurelio said that it may enter the PAR by Wednesday or Thursday.
Aurelio added that Hinnamnor may head towards Taiwan or Southern Japan.
Meanwhile, Aurelio mentioned that they are also monitoring a cloud cluster which may form into a Low Pressure Area (LPA) within the week and affect areas in Northern Luzon.
"Inaasahan po natin ang pagkilos ng isang LPA pa-Kanluran papalapit sa ating bansa lalong-lalo na sa may bandang Northern Luzon (We are expecting the movement of the LPA westward towards the country especially around Northern Luzon)," he explained.
