Arjo Atayde to Maine Mendoza: 'After four years, I still can't get enough of you'

More behind-the-scenes videos from celebrity couple Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde's engagement last month have been released.

There, Arjo is seen and heard getting emotional delivering his speech.

"After four years, I still can't get enough of you. Because my love for you just keeps growing," he said.

"When our relationship started both our families have taken in a lot of punches and still they never stop us. It didn't stop anything between us. For that, I'm very thankful to both sides of our families for accepting. Cause at the end of the day I just wanted to love you truly," he added.

According to the 31-year-old Kapamilya actor, he's at the point of his life where he doesn't know that loving as much he loves Maine is ever possible.

"It's too much. It's so much. I can't even explain," he related.

He then showed her the engagement ring, relating that he found it more than a year ago.

"I've always been sure of you, and in always, every day," Arjo said, kneeling down and asking Maine: "Will you marry me?"

Of course, the Kapuso star gave her sweetest "yes."

In a pre-proposal interview, the newly elected congressman revealed that he was supposed to propose prior but a slight problem occurred.

"Definitely, something we really have to consider because it involves family. So na delay ng onti and nagtanong ulit at nagpaalam kay tito and tita for the second time and nabigyan ng pagkakataon to ask her hand in marriage," he shared.

From Maine's perspective, it all came as as surprise.

Apparently, Arjo's accomplices disguised the event as a photo shoot for a magazine.

The 27-year-old TV host admitted how she was looking forward to it since it's been a while since her last magazine shoot.

Anyway, after the proposal, Maine said it hasn't really sunk in yet.

"Parang I'm still on cloud nine. Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari. It all happened so fast but we're here now," she said.

According to her, Arjo has been nothing but a prince to her.

"Parang akong prinsesa sa kanya. The way he loves and cares for me. Parang sobrang... sometimes I really asked the Lord what I have done to deserve this kind of love. I always prayed to find the man who's gonna love me for who I am, and you came," she told Arjo.

"So I just wanna thank you for loving me the way you do. I wanna thank you for being you, for loving my family, for loving my friends, for loving me."

The two also talked about how July 28 was so special to them.

It is the day that Maine tweeted "Arjo cutie" in 2013, seemingly manifesting their meet-up.

Then five years later, on the exact same day, they were finally introduced to each other.

And this year, in 2022, Arjo asked Maine to be his wife.
