A total of 562 outstanding students were awarded with cash incentives by the Quezon City government during the Joy of Public Service and Academic Achievement Awards 2022 held at San Francisco High School on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The Joy of Public Service and Academic Achievement Awards is part of the implemented City Ordinance 3129-2022, authored by Councilor Irene Belmonte, where the top three Grades 6 and 12 students of class 2022 from various public elementary and high schools will receive incentives from the local government.
Elementary graduates with the third highest grade average were awarded 2,000 pesos, while the second highest were given 3,000 pesos.
Those leading the pack with the highest general average were rewarded with 5,000 pesos each.
Meanwhile, high school graduates with the third highest grade average were given 4,000 pesos, 6,000 pesos for the second highest, and 10,000 pesos for the highest leading average.
Student leaders who have devoted selfless service to their schools and communities were also given medals and incentives.
City Mayor Joy Belmonte praised the exemplary students during her speech.
The mayor said she values the students' dedication and diligence in learning and encouraged them to share their knowledge and skills with other students. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
