Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan has commended the members of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Regional Office National Capital Region (PDEA-RO NCR) for confiscating a total of P10,880,000 worth of alleged shabu in a buy-bust operation last Aug. 23.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa Caloocan City Police Station, sa pangunguna ni Col. Samuel Mina, pati na rin sa PDEA-RO NCR sa patuloy na pagtugon sa ating direktiba kontra ilegal na droga (We thank the Caloocan City Police Station, led by Col. Samuel Mina, as well as PDEA-RO NCR for thier continuous response to our directive against illegal drugs),” the mayor said.
The CCPS Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), in coordination with PDEA, conducted the entrapment operation against the suspect, identified as Mark Anthony Ferrer, 38, jobless, from Quezon City, at around 5 a.m. on Aug. 23, along Santan Street, Almar Subdivision, Barangay 177, in the city.
The suspect yielded 16 pieces of knot-tied transparent plastic containing 1600 grams of alleged shabu worth P10,880,000, and the buy bust money.
Ferrer will be charged for violations of the Sections 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) of the Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
“Bilin ko naman sa inyong mga tulak, hindi titigil ang ating kapulisan na tugisin kayo nang mabulok kayo sa kulungan, kaya’t huwag niyo nang subukan sa Caloocan (My warning to the drug pushers, our police will not stop chasing you for you to rot in jail, so do not try it in Caloocan),” Malapitan said.
