Saying that being in YouTube pales in comparison to the bright lights of TV cameras, the Philippines' King of Talk Boy Abunda has confirmed that he will definitely be back on television before the end of 2022.

Abunda admitted that he has been in serious negotiations with GMA-7 and other networks, but ruled out the Villar Group's Advanced Media Brodcasting System (AMBS).

"Tatlong taon na po akong jobless. I am going to the US to host TOFA Awards this September. When I return, I hope to be able to do television," Abunda said, in an interview with the media during an event organized by Rana Pharmaceutical Inc. at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. The celebrity host was with his fellow endorser, actress Ellen Adarna.

TOFA stands for The Outstanding Filipinos of America Awards which will be held on Sept. 16 in Times Square. Abunda said he will stay for two to three weeks in New York, where he will also host a product launch of Olivia Quido skincare together with reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu.

"At the moment, it's not certain yet which TV network am going. All I know is that I will be back on TV when I arrive from the US. I just miss it so much," he said in the vernacular when asked by mediamen about his plans.

Abunda added that his talks with GMA-7 has the blessings of his old network, ABS-CBN. His last engagement with the Kapamilya channel was his hosting the roundtable discussion of the Korean remake of "Flower of Evil" starring Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe.

" There's no reason why my ties with ABS-CBN should be affected. I do my work whenever they call me. But at the same time, I have a very good relationship with the bosses and staff of GMA-7. Napakaganda ng relasyon ko sa kanila," the former long-time host of The Buzz declared.

Abunda also took time to compare his experience of being a larger-than-life TV personality to being on YouTube where he has his own channel with 1.75 million subscribers.

"Iba yung rhythm, yung kinang, yung mga ilaw ng TV. Iba lahat. Hindi ko ito naranasan sa social media. At yung fulfillment din siguro.  Napakaliit ng Youtube operations. Nagagawa namin kahit isa, dalawa lang kami. For example, I do my commentaries alone. This is why I miss TV," he noted.
