Ellen to take indefinite leave of absence from showbiz

It looks like actress Ellen Adarna is taking an indefinite leave of absence from showbiz.

Earlier, she revealed the promise she made to herself not to work until her four-year-old son Elias turns 7. But now, Ellen and her husband, Derek Ramsay, have stated that they're aiming for a baby next year, Being a mother in the near future means that Ellen will push her career further to the backburner.

 
In a product launch last Aug. 27, Ellen revealed that she and Derek are hoping for a baby that will be born in 2024, the Year of the Dragon. This means that she needs to get pregnant next year. Ellen and Derek were also born in dragon years and according to Chinese superstition, three dragons in the house bring good luck.


"Am open to guesting if it's just a day or two, but not lock-in taping na one month or one week. To be honest, no one misses going home at 5 a.m."  she quipped.


She disclosed that there are actually lots of offers for her and Derek to work together but she's not entertaining it. " Ayoko syang kasama. Feeling ko walang mangyayari. Magtatawanan lang kami."


Ellen said her decision to be away from the cameras was obviously brought by her desire to be with her son and prioritize her newly-married life. She stated that while she's not earning from showbiz as before, "I got the things that I need....not want, but need."

On her planned pregnancy, Ellen said: "Hopefully it will be easy, that's why I am taking care of my health."


The actress has just been chosen as the celebrity ambassador of Xmeal, a meal replacement drink distributed by Rana Pharmaceutical. She revealed that she was a paying customer of the product before she was contacted to be its endorser. She said she likes Xmeal because it's only 153 calories per serving. Furthermore, she drinks Xmeal as a snack or as a full substitute for a meal.


Teased by mediamen about her glowing aura, Ellen attributed this to a complete shift in her lifestyle and the fact that she is now mentally at peace. She said that she has said goodbye to her drinking.

A typical day for her starts at 5 a.m. when everyone is still asleep, and she spends the time to meditate. Her day ends at 9 or 10 p.m. when she and Derek go to sleep.


She admitted that she and Derek are opposites on some things, but they get along well together, and that makes for a balanced relationship.
