BAGUIO CITY – A security guard was commended by officials and employees of SM City Baguio for returning to the owner the bag containing P600,000 which he found on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Jill Galario, information officer of SM City Baguio, said while security guard Rodney Visperas was roaming in the rice section of SM Baguio's Supermarket, he saw a pink sling bag on top of a rice display.
The security guard immediately turned over the bag on the same day to Gladelyn Fernandez, regular cashier and customer service assistant.
The bag contained six bundles of P100,000 each for a total of P600,000.
According to Galario, a lady customer with her daughter went to customer service and asked for help for his lost pink sling bag containing P600.000 cash she left inside the supermarket.
After thorough verification by customer service, the bag was returned to the owner whose name and address were withheld for security reasons.
Visperas, a resident of Mangaldan, Pangasinan, is a roving uniform guard at SM Baguio Supermarket who has been working at SM for a year under the Saber Alpha Security Agency.
It has become a good habit for SM Employees to do good deeds such as returning lost items and encourage everyone to be a good example to the community.
“Showing good deeds is truly inspiring in many ways,” Galario said.
“What Visperas has done has once again proven to be an inspiration; his honesty and integrity is something which should be emulated,” added Galario.
