Operatives of Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) confiscated more than P2.7 million worth of shabu from two high-value individuals in a buy-bust operation Thursday, Aug. 25.
Police identified the suspects as Francedy Jamito, 20, and Dianne Harina, 36.
According to the police report, SDEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation on Yague St. in Barangay Tejeros, where the two suspects yielded shabu worth P2,720,000 and drug paraphernalia.
The recovered items were sent to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit for confirmatory test while Jamito and Harina were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Acting police district director Col. Kirby John Kraft commended the Makati police for the successful operation.
“This is an active approach in our campaign against illegal drugs. Higher number of police operations would mean that our intelligence gathering is strong. Concerned citizens have been fully and actively cooperating, too," Kraft said.
"I hope that this will serve as a warning to those involved in this illegal business that the Southern Metro Police has invigorated its efforts to curb the demand and supply of illegal drugs," he added.
