ITZY, TVXQ, Girls' Generation members test positive for Covid-19
Members of K-pop groups ITZY, TVXQ and Girls’ Generation have tested positive for Covid-19 in South Korea, which recorded an average of nearly 115,000 daily new cases in the last seven days.
ITZY’s Chaeryeong got infected for the second time this year, while TVXQ’s Yunho and Girls’ Generation’s Sunny were confirmed to have the virus.

“ITZY's Chaeryeong returned to Korea on August 22nd and was confirmed to have Covid-19 in a PCR test,” JYP Entertainment announced.
It said that “Chaeryeong is currently asymptomatic and is being quarantined according to the instructions of the public health center, and four members other than Chaeryeong have confirmed that all of the same PCR tests were negative.”
As a result, Chaeryeong was absent at the 2022 K Global Heart Dream Awards on Aug. 25. Chaeryeong first tested positive for Covid-19 last February.
On the other hand, TVXQ’s Yunho was diagnosed with Covid-19 in a PCR test conducted before leaving for Japan for the SMTown Live concert.
SM Entertainment said Yunho has no symptoms, immediately stopped his schedule and is isolating.
As a result, Yunho will be absent from the SMTown Live 2022 that will be held at Tokyo Dome from Aug. 27 to 29.
Girls' Generation's Sunny also tested positive for Covid-19 on Aug. 23 and has suspended her schedule.
Sunny used a self-test kit, which came out positive, and underwent a rapid antigen test, which also showed the same result.
South Korea tallied 101,140 new Covid-19 cases on Aug. 26. In the last seven days, it averaged 114,764 new Covid-19 cases per day.
