Police arrested Thursday night one of the eight Chinese men who allegedly abducted and sexually abused two foreign women -- a Cambodian and a Vietnamese -- in Pasay City on Aug. 23
Southern Police District (SPD) director Col. Kirby John Brion Kraft identified the arrested suspect as Ning Yuangquiyang, 24, tagged by the police as a high value individual (HVI) billeted at a hotel on P. Burgos St. in Poblacion, Makati City.
Kraft said the suspect was arrested during a follow-up operation conducted by Pasay City police around 10:15 p.m. Thursday on Macapagal Boulevard near Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena at SM MOA Complex, Pasay City.]
His seven cohorts managed to flee. Police investigation showed that the suspect’s group abducted the Vietnamese and Cambodian nationals on Aug. 23 and later abused them in a rented house on Moana St. in Barangay 70, Pasay City.
Kraft said during the arrest of the suspect, Pasay police operatives found in his possession a 9mm shooter with magazine and eight live bullets.
Police also recovered inside the suspect’s rented car, a Toyota Vios (NGX1490), one small box containing drug paraphernalia and two transparent sachets containing some 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000.
The SPD chief said the suspect’s vehicle was the same car captured by the CCTV camera installed near the house where the women were held and sexually abused.
Pasay police operatives were able to locate the rented vehicle through the help of its owner.
Kraft said the suspect was initially charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of illegal drugs.
Police are conducting follow-up operations to arrest the other suspects.
