Binibining Pilipinas' "Hipon" leads Angono, Rizal achievers

Binibining Pilipinas first runner-up Herlene Nicole Budol, popularly known as “Hipon” led the awardees for Angono Municipal Government’s Gawad Punongbayan 2022 for her recent achievement in the prestigious beauty pageant.

The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon said Budol’s achievement has drawn inspiration among the people of Angono especially the youth for showing her perseverance to win despite the odds and challenges in life.

Budol also earned the Sangguniang Bayan Award conferred through a local legislation by the town’s municipal council.

Hipon’s manager, Wilbert Tolentino was also recognized by the municipal government for his all-out support to Budol in her beauty pageant journey.

The Gawad Punongbayan is the town government’s way of highlighting the accomplishments of Angono residents in the field of arts, sports, music, medicine and beauty pageant. The awarding ceremony was part of the schedule of activities for the month-long celebration of the 84th anniversary of the signing of independence of Angono.

The other awardees are Prince Kiel Delos Santos, Mary Joy Zamora, Cjynno Jamil Fuentes, Han Paulino Mark Vincent Aguilar, Emmanuel Closas Jr, Lovely Inan, Jericson Castro, Christian Karl Standhardinger, Arvin Tolentino, Richard Agosto, Dra. Marian Concepcion, Francis Jove Dela Cruz, Herbert Pinpiño, Siefred Guilaran, Kazuyuki Motoda, Saturnino Tiamson Jr. Sherrymae Valenzuela, and Dayzeree Kent Gonzales.

Budol rose to stardom after television host and actor Willie Revillame saw her while she was still a contestant in his Wowwowin game show on GMA a few years ago. It was at the game show where she got her monicker “Hipon.”

Prior to her television appearances, Budol was a pageant winner and was crowned Miss Angono Tourism while she was still working at the mayor’s office during the term of Mayor Gerardo Calderon.
