Police Capt. Joseph Partidas, municipal police chief, said Dautil was riding his motorcycle on his way home when the gunmen hiding in a sugarcane field ambushed him.
Dautil sustained bullet wounds in the chest and head and was declared dead on arrival at the Ignacio L. Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in the town.
Police recovered from the crime scene a fired cartridge for a .45 caliber firearm.
