DOH logs over 3,000 more Covid-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,580 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

The new cases brought the number of active cases nationwide to 30,240.

Most Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days were recorded in Metro Manila with 13,256 infections.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 7,404, Central Luzon with 4,382, Western Visayas with 2,299, and Cagayan Valley with 1,896,

The hospital bed utilization rate was at 29.4 percent. There are 20,454 beds dedicated for Covid-19 patients that are still vacant, while 8,511 are occupied, as shown in the DOH Covid-19 tracker.

The country's running tally of Covid-19 infections stood at 3,864,034, of which, 3,772,318 patients have recovered, while the death toll was at 61,476.
