Still no work in all courts in NCR, nearby provinces Aug. 24 -- SC

Work is still suspended on Wednesday, Aug. 24, in the Supreme Court (SC) and all courts in the National Capital Region (NCR), Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales and Bataan “due to the onslaught of severe tropical storm ‘Florita.’”
Aside from the SC in Manila, also suspended is work in the appellate courts in the NCR – Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, and Court of Tax Appeals.
In a memorandum circular, Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo said “the suspension (of work) will prevent any untoward incidents and will ensure safety of the Justices, officials and employees.”
The Office of the Court Administrator (OCA), in a directive issued by Chief Justice Gesmundo, ordered the suspension of work in the trial courts in NCR, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales and Bataan.
A circular issued by Deputy Court Administrator Jenny Lind R. Aldecoa-Delorino stated that executive judges in other areas affected by “Florita” are given discretion to suspend work in their areas.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. had suspended classes in public schools and government work in Metro Manila and nearby provinces from Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23, to Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said the suspension of classes in private schools and private offices was highly recommended.
