Sandro steps up, unlocks achievement in House


Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos has achieved another first in his flegding career as a legislator.

Marcos, 28, stepped up to act as presiding officer during a meeting of the powerful Committee on Rules on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

His Facebook post explained the events that led to his taking over of the meeting.

"Due to Majority Leader Dalipe being needed on an urgent matter, I stepped in and presided over my first Committee on Rules meeting today! " the neophyte congressman wrote.

Marcos holds the position pf senior deputy majority leader, which makes him the second-in-command in the rules panel. The panel is chaired by Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe of Zamboanga City's 2nd district.

Chances are, the meeting had to do with the upcoming budget deliberations in the House of Representatives.
